How does Masterbation (HJ) or BDSM affected by this law

"The following activities have been found to constitute a sexual service or an act of prostitution, if provided in return for some form of consideration:

*lap-dancing, which involves sitting in the client’s lap and simulating sexual intercourse;[31] masturbation of a client in the context of a massage parlour, whether or not the client climaxes;[32] and, sado-masochistic activities, provided that the acts can be considered to be sexually stimulating/gratifying.[33] However, jurisprudence is clear that neither acts related to the production of pornography,[34] nor stripping[35] meet the test. In most cases, physical contact, or sexual interaction, between the person providing the service and the person receiving it is required; however, acts for which consideration is provided that take place in a private room in a club and that are sexual in nature, but do not involve physical contact between the “client” and “performer”, such as self-masturbation, have been found to constitute prostitution.[36]"

Did you know here in Canada?

Everything we work for, as sex workers, to provide for our future and families can be taken away from us even though just like other businesses we pay to the government business licenses and taxes.  Keep in mind this happens just because we offer our skilled services in providing you a simple pleasure that can't or isn't being provided in your own home.  So people stop saying that prostitution in Canada is legal as it's no longer true and could do harm.

Are you aware that this government is pressuring regulated financial institutions to seize our bank accounts and if they don't this government says they're either contributing to the problem or against it (black and white).  They are instructed to advise us that we are either exploited or victims of this business and they're doing this for our own good.

We hold the oldest profession in history and at times the government and church even call upon us to serve in times of their need, but when they don't need us we are treated discriminately, unfairly and like dirt, saying our business is considered undesirable.  Well, frankly not from what I've seen.  All those same powers that be walk through our doors but we keep their secrets and carry the burden of their programmed shame as I'll tell you now, it's not our shame nor do we believe they should feel shame.

Society believes WE are the threat to health and home; however, this thought is truly backwards, the only threat is society to our health and home.  Stating we all have loose morals and must be victims because we have chosen a business that empowers sex and enhances pleasures in a world rules by morally and corrupt people feeling displaced and exhausted from living the lie.  That's the only danger when those people have no place to release and they explode in what seems to be acceptable behavior:  Anger, abuse, resentment and low self esteem.  I say we are the angels in disguise, we preach acceptance, love, openness, honesty, living authentically.  I can see how society and government may view this as ethically and immorally wrong.  So perhaps we can put a message forth to our confused and sad naysayers the words from COYOTE "CALL OFF YOUR TIRED OLD ETHICS".

My 2 cents worth:

This C-36 law is unconstitutional because it takes away the ability for a licensed business to advertise by coersing advertising companies to stop advertising ONE particular business or face criminal charges. There is no other licensed business anywhere in Canada that isn't permitted to advertise by law.  The result of this law will just force the business back underground, SPs running vague ads along side RMTs so clients will struggle to know the difference on who to call for Happy Ending and finally a huge loss of revenue for advertisers (possible employee cutbacks), loss of tax revenue to the government because the adult entertainment business is usually contributing more paid taxes as they are charged 3 times as much as regular businesses in their communities.

With all this said, DON'T FREAK OUT!  These laws have been manipulated for centuries and ideally L.E. are not truly out to get the average Joe or John in this case.... Although it may get used as a moral platform from government,, Feminists and Religious groups, it's really about stopping the increase abuse of those vulnerable.  If you don't wish to be a target, stay away from agencies, asian massage parlours, street workers and car dates and find an independent SP that you feel safe with.  There are plenty of healthy, educated, independent service providers who are truly interested in taking care of you. The people most at risk are the pooners or those who are willing to take one for the team (TOFTT) by their insatiable appetite for the undiscovered or unreviewed.  Stay loyal to your service provider and if you need some variety ask him/her to suggest someone safe. We are professionals and will not be offended.  That's just great customer service.

This industry has been made the social pariah since the beginning of time.  It baffles me that the world see a business that puts a high value to their bodies and abilities as wrong, yet they don't see the vast people selling themselves for a couple of drink in a bar or for FREE on Personals sites as even note worthy. Everyone prostitutes themselves in some form (definition "the unworthy or corrupt use of one's talents for the sake of personal or financial gain"). The wife/husband who demands quid pro quo or holds sex as a bargaining chip, the person who wants to move up in the work world and there are many more.  Why is it that the mounting breakdown or failure of marital communication governed by church or state be place upon this profession as its scapegoat.  The people in the adult profession help keep marriages together longer by encouraging them, appreciating them, by removing some of the frustration.  Why can the community not just say thank you for your hard work, tolerance and patience.

Each man or woman should be asked if they are being exploited.  I certainly am not!  It takes a lot of skill, patience, tolerance and strength to stand up against the flow of the visible subjugated society.

  1. Keep the business legit, licenced and pay taxes and keep it out of the shadows and streets.

  2. Stay apprised of this ridiculous law and at every opportunity fight to get it repealed.

  3. Enforce that we are consenting adults and what we do in private is no one else's business.

  4. Protect the innocent minors and foreigners who need direction.

  5. Help those who have been shamed about their sexuality.

  6. Have compassion for those who have had their sexual pleasures and trust taken away.

  7. Stand up for a healthy sex positive culture.

  8. Help define and differentiate between Prostitution and Sex Trade/Work (there truly is a different)
